Hi Kazira. I noticed you're in the UK. If you're interested in getting hands-on, there are some venture philanthropy funds in the UK you might be interested in checking out like Impetus Trust. Here's a directory of some of the European VP funds: http://www.evpa.eu.com/directory-of-members.php Some of them have volunteer opportunities, specifically usually using professional skills. - Specifically I know LGT Venture Philanthropy and Impetus have programs.
Hi Kazira - thanks for friending me. I saw your question, but think you may have been referring to a talk I did awhile ago. Happy to answer any questions you might have. Thanks for being a part of this community!
Hey Kazira, I'm not in London, but I'm available if you have any questions. I suggest that you try connecting with the London team first to get to know more about what it's all about. Julia, the group leader, has been taking a real lead there so you may want to speak with her and get her feedback on what it's like. Excited to see you get started!
Hi Kazira, welcome to the Community. How did you hear about Acumen Fund? I know that you're not that close to London, but if you're ever in the area you might want to try and meet up with some of our other volunteers in the UK - http://community.acumenfund.org/group/londonsupportsacumen
This is a group for all South Asian community members and for anyone else who may be interested, to exchange ideas on engaging South Asians more in Acumen Fund's work - especially diaspora community members. Looking forward to the discussions!
