I'm passionate about using entrepreneurship and business acumen to create solutions to the challenges of global poverty. I'm moving to Brazil in August of 2010 and am looking to build relationships in the business and social enterprise communities.
My experiences include a background in startups, international business, science / engineering, and creating (social) entrepreneurial communities - through hosting IdeaPitch competitions, funding student businesses, and creating channels of action for students, professional, and community members to engage in traditional and social entrepreneurship.
Check out this video of an event we organized at The Ohio State University - the Alleviating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship (APTE) Summit. The APTE Summit 2011 will be held on April 22, 2011.

- I was very lucky to participate in the Acumen Fund Global Student Leaders Workshop in May of 2009. This connected me with the brilliant people at the Acumen Fund, a most incredible group of emerging young global leaders and helped me to get very connected in the overall social enterprise community, both domestically and internationally.
I've been spreading the word about Acumen Fund since and working to champion the most important goal of Acumen Fund - to change the way the world solves poverty.

Based on your passion for the developing world you may want to check our website www.uend.org We are currently in Canada and in the new year will be expanding the the US. There are some great projects, concentration is via micro donations building from the community level to help end extreme poverty. I am on the board, it is an interesting model and having good impact in some regions.
