Common Vocabulary, our organization, is developing a common, globally accessible curriculum to help students better understand and respond to the complex and interconnected issues involved in promoting global health and sustainable development. I met Peter J. DeBartolo, Jr. at Bard College Globalization and Internatinal Affairs Program in 2004 and W. Smoot Carter III at the Millennium Network in support of Clinton Foundation in 2008, together we run New Horizons Initiative. My goal is to be the champion of the socio-economic prosperity of the people of Africa through enterprise development. Twitter: twarria.
I have heard of the A to Z mills (I read about them in the Blue Sweater) - have you ever visited them? I might be going to Kenya in August and it would be cool to see their work.

I do try to support AF. I screened for spam for this community last fall (until the office recruited a local volunteer). I also purchased a box of Blue Sweater in paperback for teachers. Here is a link to a presentation in Pune where I plugged AFC enthusiastically:
I also have a standing offer to AF/AFC to take over the 1BpP group anytime. As AFC's mission becomes clearer it is eliminating groups that don't serve to directly promote AF, and i think 1BpP might confuse that picture. Many members here are behind this initiative and so I'm looking to create a separate site (1bpp.net) without diverting support from AFC, which will serve as an online catalog of acumen supporting this goal, through which visitors could carry out keyword searches to find relevant resources at social networks such as AFC.
I also try to share my understanding with others here through my blog and other posts that social enterprise isn't enough because creating affluence produces poverty in our economic system. We need social enterprise within a metamarketplace to eliminate poverty.
Hey! I just recently created a group called the Global Health Group, a new place to interact and discuss social enterprise and health, and a bit about the Acumen Fund's role in it. I see from your profile that you have a background in health, and so I thought that you might be interested in joining. Hope to see you there!

Hi Teddy. Thanks for the link to Common Vocabulary-- interesting approach, very grassroots.
This is a group for all South Asian community members and for anyone else who may be interested, to exchange ideas on engaging South Asians more in Acumen Fund's work - especially diaspora community members. Looking forward to the discussions!
Today we organized the teacher's convention in Islamabad. It was the 7th session in the series but the first time, a foundation was laid for clusters in education where the purpose was to introduce innovation in the education sector.
